About This Service
Tropical Fish Tank Maintenance
Tropical fish tanks need regular care to stay healthy. Warm water speeds up everything that happens inside the tank. Waste breaks down faster, water chemistry shifts more quickly, and problems can develop before you notice anything is wrong. AquariumCraft provides scheduled tropical fish tank maintenance for homes and businesses across North West London. We visit on a fortnightly or monthly basis and take care of everything the tank needs. Water changes, filter servicing, glass cleaning, parameter testing, equipment checks. You do not need to do a thing. We work with all kinds of tropical setups. Community tanks, planted aquascapes, cichlid tanks, discus tanks. Every visit is shaped around what you actually keep, not a generic routine that gets applied to every tank regardless of its inhabitants. If your tropical tank is not looking its best, or life has just got too busy to keep on top of it, get in touch. We cover Harrow, Wembley, Barnet, Finchley, Brent, Hendon and the wider North West London area.

Who This Service Is For
This service works well for a wide range of fish keepers across North West London.
Busy Households
A tropical tank that gets less attention than it deserves. We visit on a fortnightly or monthly basis and keep the water quality and equipment in good condition throughout.
Newer Hobbyists
Not yet confident testing parameters or spotting early signs of illness. Regular visits mean problems get caught before fish are lost.
Schools and Offices
Tropical tanks in North West London schools, waiting rooms and offices that need professional care on a scheduled basis without any involvement from staff.
Community and Planted Tank Owners
We work with all types of tropical setup and tailor every visit to what your specific tank actually contains rather than applying a single routine to every system.
How It Works
Get in Touch
When you get in touch we ask about your tank. Size, what fish you keep, how long it has been running and what your current maintenance routine looks like. This gives us a clear picture before we visit and ensures the first appointment is as useful as possible.
First Visit and Assessment
On the first visit we carry out a full assessment. We test the water, inspect the equipment, check the livestock and identify anything that needs attention. We will be honest with you about the condition of the tank and what we recommend going forward.
We Agree a Schedule
We agree a maintenance schedule based on what we find. Most tropical tanks benefit from a visit every 2 to 4 weeks depending on the stocking level, the filtration system and how quickly waste builds up in your particular setup.
Regular Visits With Written Summaries
On each routine visit we carry out the full service. We bring our own water testing kit, equipment and consumables. After each visit we leave a short written summary of what was done, what the water parameters were and anything we noticed that you should be aware of.
Transparent Pricing
Simple, Fixed Pricing. No Hidden Charges.
Routine tropical fish tank maintenance visits start from £45 for tanks up to around 100 litres. Larger tanks, heavily planted setups, high stocking levels or tanks that need more time on each visit are priced accordingly. Customers who book a regular schedule of visits receive a small discount compared to one-off bookings. It also means you get priority scheduling and we can track your water chemistry over time, which makes it much easier to spot trends before they cause problems. We give you an exact price after a brief conversation about your tank. There are no call-out fees and no hidden charges.

Frequently Asked Questions
How often does a tropical fish tank need professional maintenance?
For most tropical setups, a visit every 2 to 4 weeks works well. Tanks with a high number of fish, live plants, or smaller volumes of water generally need more frequent attention because waste and water chemistry change faster. We assess your specific tank on the first visit and recommend a schedule based on what we actually find, not a blanket rule.
Do I need to be at home when you visit?
You do need to be present for the first visit so we can go through the tank together and agree on the maintenance plan. For regular visits after that, some customers prefer to be home and others arrange access for us to let ourselves in. We are happy to work around whatever suits you best.
Will you move or disturb my fish during the visit?
In most cases, no. We carry out water changes, filter cleans and glass cleaning without needing to catch or move fish. On rare occasions, if a fish is showing signs of illness and needs a closer look, or if we need to rearrange décor for a thorough substrate clean, we may need to move things temporarily. We always let you know beforehand if that is the case.
What if you spot a sick fish during a visit?
We carry out a visual health check on every visit. If we notice a fish that looks unwell, we will tell you what we have observed, what we think may be causing it, and what we recommend doing. In straightforward cases we can treat the tank during the same visit. For anything more complex we will advise on the best course of action, which may include a follow-up visit or a specific treatment plan.
Do you bring your own water for the water change?
We use your tap water, treated on site with a dechlorinator and matched to the temperature of your tank before it goes in. This is the safest approach for your fish as it avoids any sudden changes in water chemistry. We bring all the products needed to do this as part of the standard service.
